One name, many neighbourhoods

“Pattaya” in a headline could mean any of a dozen very different places. The geography shapes the story — here's the map that makes local news legible.

AreaCharacter
Beach Road & Central PattayaThe tourist heart — the beachfront strip, shopping, the busy centre of everything
Walking Street & South PattayaThe famous nightlife district — the entertainment core
Pratamnak HillThe quieter headland between Pattaya and Jomtien — viewpoints, upscale residences
JomtienThe longer, calmer beach south — family-and-residential, a growing condo city
NakluaThe older, more Thai north end — seafood, markets, local character
East Pattaya (Nong Prue etc.)The inland residential sprawl — where much of the expat-and-family population actually lives
WongamatThe upscale northern beach — resorts and high-end condos
